Arts in Motion has a long history of commissions and collaborations, particularly between performance, music, visual arts and media. Much of the work culminates in a projected image or images for a performance or a live event or an installation or a mixture of all three. Sometimes the collaboration is formalised into a film for Dvd or web.

Elements: Working with painter James Hawkins to create material to be projected at live concerts by jazz composer Rob Hall at the 2001 Highland Festival

Surface Movement: With Artist Colin Lawson,  Mr MacFalls Chamber Orchestra, Composer Mathilda Brown  and John McGeoch producing animations and video sequences of a series of 12 paintings by Colin Lawson and played live to the music of Mathilda Brown`s trio of compositions by Mr MacFalls Chamber in Shetland, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Imagining the Centre:  Prey/Pray – A collaboration with Sam Barlow, a sculptor based in Sutherland as part the revitalisation of Inverness Old Town. A three metre high steel eagle with a camera in it`s eye recorded participants last moments which were then mixed with wild west coast footage and screened inside a biblesque book onto the walls of nearby Abertaff House.

The Bards: A collaboration with Andrew Ward based around his series of 12 paintings of Scottish Bards, taking each painting and creating an animated film.
